Temporary Fire Permit (TFP)

The development owner can apply for a Temporary Fire Permit (TFP) from the SCDF to occupy the premises for a limited period before obtaining the Fire Safety Certificate (FSC). This is subject to the amount of the fire safety works have been satisfactorily completed.

A further application to the SCDF to obtain the FSC is required before the TFP lapses.

Together with the household shelter (HS), storey shelters (SS) are designed and constructed to protect residents against weapon effects during a war emergency, and are regulated under the Civil Defence Shelter Act.

A HS is located within the residential unit while a SS is located at a common area of a storey and serves the residents of that storey.
